Anna Jędrasiak invites you to the webinar: “The Free Credit Sanction (SKD) from the Perspective of Lending Institutions”
We invite you to a webinar dedicated to the Free Credit Sanction (SKD), to be held on 29 May 2025 at 10:00 AM. The session will be led by attorney-at-law Anna Jędrasiak, a specialist in financial and consumer credit law.
The Free Credit Sanction (SKD) is a consumer protection mechanism provided for in the Consumer Credit Act. It allows consumers to repay credit without interest or additional charges where the lender has failed to comply with specific information obligations. The application of the SKD may therefore result in serious consequences for lending institutions, including the loss of interest and other credit-related fees. In practice, a consumer’s use of the SKD results in the credit becoming entirely cost-free.
Should the lending sector be concerned? Are we facing challenges comparable to those arising from foreign currency loan disputes?
This webinar is addressed to representatives of lending institutions, compliance departments, and anyone interested in consumer credit and its regulatory framework. Participants will gain practical insights into the SKD, and Anna Jędrasiak will share guidance on how to avoid errors that may lead to its application.
The following issues will be addressed during the webinar:
- the definition and legal nature of the Free Credit Sanction;
- typical errors in credit agreements that trigger SKD;
- requirements for a valid SKD declaration by the consumer;
- legal consequences for lenders resulting from the SKD;
- current supervisory authority positions and case law of the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) concerning SKD.
Registration is available on the event website.
We encourage you to attend.
